Lot 683 Pre-1800's Flintlock Mechanism & Tool
Featured in this lot is this unmarked pre-1800's flintlock mechanism and tool; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. There is a 18th century flintlock mechanism and a pistol maintenance tool in this collection. Both were housed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum. The mechanism is unmarked indicating forge construction with the moving parts working as intended. The pistol tool is a three prong leverage tool with a flat blade, a socket, and a leverage socket. The collection comes complete with a original museum tag that reads as follows: Forge-made - Pre-1800 - Flintlock rifle and Pistol Tool. The condition of this flintlock mechanism and pistol tool is preserved with some oxidation adorning the mechanism and the tool but otherwise shows a preserved condition. The measurements of this flintlock mechanism is 3 1/2" x 3 1/4" x 1 1/8" and the pistol tool measures 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" x 5/8". G131, G39
